Who we are

LUCA PERRI
M.Sc. in Astrophysics and Space Physics at the University of Milan-Bicocca. Ph.D. student in Physics and Astrophysics at the University of Insubria, Como and at the INAF Astronomical Observatory of Brera, where he also has the role of astronomer and dome engineer. Member of the National Institute for Astrophysics and of the National Institute of Nuclear Physics. He works on the development, construction and calibration technologies for telescopes and to the study of Active Galactic Nuclei. He has many experiences in the field of science popularization, including the Genoa Science Festival, BergamoScienza, Researchers Night, Lecco Planetarium and Darwin Day. He worked as a science journalist for Pikaia - The Portal of Evolution directed by Telmo Pievani and is the national reigning champion and international finalist of FameLab, the science talent show. In his free time, apart from carrying out a series of activities that are keeping on with his nerd status, he usually eats and learns anecdotes of dubious value.

AARON GAIO
M.Sc. in Mathematics at University of Trento and Ph.D. student in Mathematics Education at the Department of Mathematics and Computer Science of University of Palermo. He works with teaching and learning of discrete mathematics, cryptography and graph theory, including educational activities - in school and not - and teachers training. In the last 10 years he has been teaching educational and sport activities for schools among the topics of orienteering, geography, cartography and Physical Education. He also organizes courses for managers and companies. Since 2012 he is a scientific explainer and educator at Genoa Science Festival and for other associations and foundations. He runs orienteering at a competitive level but, although spending a good part of his time trying not to get lost in woods and mountains, this is still a small percentage of his days, compared to the time spent to explain to others what the sport is about.
SCIENTIFIC SUPERVISOR

PAOLO ATTIVISSIMO
Writer and journalist, radio host of The Disinformatico on the Swiss National Radio (RSI). He is the author and co-author of 18 books, of the blog "Il Disinformatico" (Macchianera Award 2008, 2009 and 2013, as the best technical and at the same time popular blog in Italian language) and articles for Wired and Le Scienze (the italian edition of Scientific American). Lecturer and consultant of Swiss Radio and Television, Mediaset and RAI on technology, cospirationism, hoaxes and media disinformation, is also coordinator of the "Anti-Hoax Service" (more than 9 million visitors). While having to do with alleged paranormal and pseudoscience, he has become president of CICAP Ticino (Italian Committee for the Investigation of Claims of the Pseudosciences). Enthusiast about Space, he is a documentary producer, among those Contact Light and Moonscape - the latter for RAI School - and author of the book "Moon Hoax: Debunked!". He owns, according to himself, two cats and a half. Among the most significant achievements we want to remind being the first Italian to get a refund for unused Windows (1999) and the Tweet Award 2011 as "more geek twitter".
CARTOONIST

ANGELO ADAMO
Astronomer and science popularizer, musician and cartoonist-illustrator. He works at INAF Observatory of Bologna. With Springer, he has published the book "Planets between notes - notes of an astronomer". For Giraldi Bologna he has also published "Stories of Suns and Moons - tales of dreams, tales of science". He also illustrated the volume "Astrokids - Adventures and discoveries in Space", a project of the National Institute of Astrophysics, published by ScienzaExpress. As a musician, he released the albums Quanta (MAP, 2000), FIlm Ciechi (LM Records, 2005), My Foolish Harp (Red Records, 2009), Brother Buster (A simple lunch, 2013), The Night Has a Thousand Eyes (Four Edition, 2015). He is also present in the blogosphere with his Squid Zoup, a blog which publishes its articles, videos and comics. In addition to his undoubted artistic quality, he has been hired as only slightly less crazy than the Ig Nobel Prizes that he was supposed to illustrate. The only problem was catching him, being him as absent-minded as busy.
